Exactly. When I worked at the grocery store, I saw those self scanners as a replacement for a paid employee.
Many businesses have reduced personnel and it would seem they would have a lower operating cost. Correct me if Im wrong did any of these "savings" any percentage get passed down to the employees, probably not. Even in the form of extra vacation days, perhaps a 4 day work week, I don't think so, very greedy indeed.
My honest opinion…and I know we all have one, is many people just have a problem with a black face in the white house. So, no matter what he does it can't be right!
Unfortunately I think you are correct. He really has accomplished some astounding feats that have helped the country yet so many disapprove.

I do not care about color. I care about politics. I care about viewpoints and plans. I hate the direction that this country is going. I hate that the unemployment rate is so high. And I hate the fact that just because I disagree with Obama that I am called a racist.
Not saying you specifically ladylimpsalot, however I know a lot of people personally who do feel that way. If the shoe fits wear it, like I said its my experience and opinion and I must voice that like anyone else. No accusations to anyone here, but thats my own experience. I wasn't calling anyone here a racist, hope you understand that.

Tbone, you say many people have a problem with a black face in the white house. Who? I voted against Obama and the Democratic party because I believe that people need to control their reproductive systems instead of expecting me, the tax payer to take care of it. I voted against the Democrats because I disagree with a lot of the Affordable Healthcare law. I disagree with the Democratic agenda. It has nothing to do with Obama's color. I personally think that Obama is making too much of prejudice and he is using that for his political advantage.
If I feel this way, that so many of the policies are horrible for our country, I have every reason to believe that others who are against the Democratic agenda, are against the Democratic agenda! I would readily vote for Ben Carson. I would readily vote for Condaleeza Rice and there are probably several other Black candidates for whom I would vote, as well as several White candidates for whom I would not vote.
What's more, I would call whites or blacks who say that I vote for someone because of their color, racists just as I would call those who do vote for color, racists. And I would not vote for Hillary either. Does that make me sexist as well as racist? I vote for the political views and how powerfully I think that those who share my views will represent me.
Racism seems to be in question because he has done so many good things and yet is perceived to be evil. You don't like his health care program but it is based on republican ideas. He would have had a single payer system which to republicans is socialism (a very nasty word amongst republicans). He has and is doing the best he can. He saved the auto industry. He got bin laden. The list goes on and on. Republicans/tea party have stopped progress. Republicans hate the health care system and it's their idea! Crazy ironic!
Apparently the middle class and lower republicans simply want to be a slave to the Koch brothers, aka the tea party, aka the Republican Party.
At least the democrats don't want people starving and dying in the streets even if they are "lazy" and "takers".

Once again ladylimpsalot I am not saying YOU or anyone else who dislikes the Democratic party is a racist. What I am saying is that many people whom Ive had discussions with since Obama became president don't like the fact that a blackman is president. Thats all, Im saying. If you dislike the policies that have come down from this administration thats fine its your right as an American. I personally don't care for the Republican right wing agendas,I think many of them are unrealistic and idealogical. You asked me Who I know that doesn't like President Obama for being a black man in the whitehouse, all I can tell you is I had many co workers that did not like him for that reason, and I worked with 10,000 people in my job.
I don't think the Affordable Health Care act was implemented in the most efficient and streamlined way there were many mistakes, after all this was a huge undertaking. I also think that everyone is entitled to healthcare.
As far as people controlling their reproductive system, you've gotta better chance of controlling the weather. Kids are gonna screw and have unplanned pregnancies its been going on since the beginning of time and they will continue to make mistakes. Young people don't think with the same mind as an adult. Your gonna pay one way or the other, an abortion, or a child that grows up on welfare. I don't condone this, but it is a fact.
Why do YOU keep saying that I am calling you a racist, I don't know you. We've never had a conversation. So you don't like the the Democratic agendas and I think conservative Republicans are unrealistic. Im not calling you a racist so please stop saying that I am.

No, you have not called me racist. I think that many of the democratic party would though. Sorry if I have gone a little overboard. I feel very strongly about the political system and fear that the US as we know it, is in trouble.

If you knew me even just a little you would be ashamed of what you just posted.
I don't give a damn about the color of his skin. I care about his voting record.

Maybe he has pushed for some good things, but at what cost in the long run? Two of my family members had their hours cut to less than 29 hours per week and they are making close to minimum wage. You can't live on that and have anything but poverty. Now they are struggling to get by. If it wasn't for my family helping each other my nephews would only be able to eat 1 per day, and that is cooking at home. Why should I be thankful for that? I am sitting at the front lines of the war on poverty and I don't see anything good coming from a handout. People need education. Education is how you fix social issues. You can't sustain a welfare state and the government knows it. The people pulling the strings of both major political parties don't give a damn about anyone but the super rich, and they prefer the rest of use to be super poor and dumb so we are easier to manage.
Just because I don't like the overall direction that the country is going politically doesn't mean I want to be poor, a slave or racist!
There are plenty of other socialist countries out there you can move to if that's what you fancy. We don't need that in the USA!
This thread might be better locked. I stayed off the board for a few days to think about this issue and I think it has gotten out of the spirit of this forum, and I have contributed too. This is the last post I will make in this thread because I don't have anything else positive to contribute to it.
