Hi Butiki, thanks for the welcome, and yes we do This is the first time for me on one of these forum sites. Hope to learn and share and meet some great people. I would love to find out if there was a list of accessible places in each state, like hotels, tourist destinations, etc.

I agree Wheeliegal that w/chair accessability is light on in places but I have had some pleasant surprises too...
The best ever CLEAN disabled facilities that I have experienced in Australia were at Mardugal billabong camping area at Kakadu National Park, Northern Territory in 1988 and were still there in good working condition thru to 1992 when I was last there. The toilet seat was thoughtfully positioned high enough above the bowl to allow the same access for the paperwork etc as one has on a toilet/shower chair. I think someone with sci or who had a relationship with a sci person must have been responsible for this excellent facility. I really hope it is still there as the common public disabled toilet facilities are of limited use to me.

Accommodation costs could be less intimidating with some careful planning to accommodate members in our homes or swap houses for periods to be negotiated...

Its a fact that there are more maltese living in Australia than in Malta itself. Most emigrated in the 60's for a better life and some made it big. It seems that this Maltese guy got too big. He never worked but owned a villa with pool. now he's been sent back.
