Hey mikeb love them photos. Where did you take the Windmill pic that is really cool.
just off interstate I65, this area is about ninety miles north of indianapolis - they stretch for miles - hundreds of them. at night all the lights go on and off at the same time. it's amazing
"from the top of the mountain, you can not see the mountain."
mikeb whats the last picture of? I love it but dont know what it is
the last image is a 15 second exposure of some LED's. i was experimenting with the camera. pretty sure i had a few drinks cause i was dancing, with the camera shutter open, pointing the camera at my then "entertainment system". the bright LED's from my xbox, a router and some other device left these incredible streaks on the camera sensor.
the image reminds me of coming out of a struggle - or chaos. there is some sort of butterfly or bird rising above while still in the wreckage. some of these images are real metaphors of my life. but i don't always get the meaning right away.
Thats interesting mikeb that you see that connection there....seeing personal associations in our environment makes sense to me. Would be great if you can share some more photographs and add what they mean to you..if you would like to share?
i shot this while on a trip to new york, summer of 2012. this is one of those images that captures my own physical restraints (which can make photography super frustrating at times). but sometimes this stuff that gets in the way produces something special .
see, as i'm taking this image, i'm fumbling with the camera… i have this shot i see, but can't quite get it, as i'm rolling down the sidewalk, trying to get this woman's hat…. uh, too late. it is out of focus, i could not change my settings so it's overexposed & it's even crooked!
but i don't know, changed it to black and white & i love this image. oh an the MOMA was amazing too.
mikeb stunning photographs, simply beautiful. It may be frustrating as you say in your last post, but that photograph shows life through you, so that makes it very unique. Thanks for sharing
these are my shades being hit by the morning sun. i does it's best to pour through it reminds me that beauty is right in front of me, even if i wish to keep the blinds shut and remain separate from it.
symbolically it's a reminder of the "life of contrast" i'm experiencing - the "goods" are as bright as the "bads" are dark… but really they are just blinds.

Before the picture was taken, I had my sister put the wheelchair there to be a part of the picture. I was thinking it would resemble being able to enjoy life regardless of the wheelchair... My attempt at being artistic with pictures.
