I was injured before the chance of me having a child. My fiancee and I have decided that we are wanting to have a child. I have done quite a bit of research online but not many opinions or stories from the people themselves. I know that there are complications that can occur especially AD and I was just wondering if there were anyone on here who has had a child adopted a child or anything of the sort after their injury or knows someone who has that might be able to shed some light on the situation.?

risaj, we have a very interesting thread on the forum that was started up by one of our members called nikita. She had her baby post injury and is very knowledgeable.
She is a high level complete injury and has written about the subject too.

Take a read on this thread inspired' Parenting with SCI Im sure you will find it very helpful, maybe if you message her she will give you some advice too.

Personally, id love to adopt a baby.... i didnt think i would get this broody thing ever in my life...but i sure do have it these days lol....btw we have another post in this section, where a young lady with SCI is about to have a baby with her friend as a surrogate.

It should be working now risaj. There's a minimum of 5 posts required before one can send messages to members but that is there to prevent spammers and other crazy people from messaging members.
