Hi Ridingdirty, I just wish they would legalize it in Ga... Is it legal where you are? Is Med Marj what you use to treat your pain? Hopefully one day real soon because I am currently taking Opana which is generic for Morphine and the side effects are horrible. It works great for pain its just the side effects that go along with it I don't like.
Hi! Yes I do use medical marijuana. It helps me out a lot. I was taken 1200mg X2 a day of gavapentin and 40mg X2 a day of Baclofen 2 years ago and now I use MMJ. Now I'm taking 200mg X2 a day of Gavapentin and 20mg X2 a day of Baclofen.
Hell yes it does! It's the only thing I do for the pain. I could give two s***s if it's legal or not. I don't wait for the government to tell me what's good for me while the corporations that run it figure out how to exert control over it's production and use. It is medicine given to us all by nature. Smoke it, eat it, pop it, whatever. It's the real deal Holyfield. We have every right to feel as good as we possibly can, especially when we're hurting absolutely nothing except for the corporate pharma bottom line, which, to repeat myself, I could give two s***s about
I have been a PARA now for 15 years of those 15 years I have used medical Marijuana for 14 of them - In the beginning...In thehospital they drugged me right up on Morphine, Laratine's and oxy 's for my pain treatment - wow what a waste of a year of mylife - I Lived in a bubble as I found these kind of drugs really affect ones place in society - they make you non productive and almost useless... not to mention the Damage over time to your liver - Ive seen 3 friends whom now have liver and kidney issues from prolonged use of these drugs.
I took a stance with my doctor and stated that MJ works for me and definitely takes the edge off so the daily pain is tolerable, as well as the added perk of Hunger that comes with it - I know stress really affects my hunger - if im stressed I don't eat as I just don't feel the hunger pain very much anymore. As well one can fully function and be a productive member of society...meaning getting a JOB
eventually I had to do my own research and find a doctor that supports this form of medication - Dr. Goddard is now my pain specialist for the last 14years and Im telling all of you IT WORKS for me and my life style - I work 10 hours plus a day and thrive outside of work hours even being medicate It allows me to be very productive - 14 years of it now and my mind is still very, very sharp - I vaporize it... keeping my health in check !
Hi Jimmyt, Welcome to the site.. I know exactly what you mean, I'm on those same meds and I hate it and the side effects that are now showing up 5 yrs later that they don't even mention to you when putting you on them. I do as you now that I figured out the pattern of when the drug test is LOL. Just waiting for it to be legal here in GA, they denied it back a couple months ago but they are still working on it so hopefully soon. Thanks for the great post, have a good one Kim
I have been playing around with different formulas/ratios of THC and CBD (cannabinoids).
Recently I have come completely off the Baclofen I had become tolerant of and I am now using a high CBD to THC ratio formulas to help control my spasticity. NOTE: I do not have spasms or pain associated with my SCI (at least not yet, 1984 was the accident). I am here in California where it is legal if you have a Prop 215 card. I am starting to find more and more high CBD products at the dispensaries catering to different ratios for different people/ailments.
When I was on Baclofen and used high THC products (inhalant, edible...), I would lose coordination. Same thing when I drank. After renewing my Prop 215 card, the doctor renewing introduced me to CBD and how it helps with numerous ailments. I started trying to find different CBD products and found that I would generally get high if there was too much THC rather than higher CBD or a 1:1 ratio. I really did not want the high since I want to stay sharp for work.
I have found the following so far that will not get you high and one that is legal over the counter:
Cheeba Chews Pure CBD - This has 50mg CBD and only 2mg THC. Will not get you high but I am not sure if it will trigger a drug test failure. Dixie Botanical CBD Dew Drops - This is over the counter legal because there is not enough THC in it to be a drug. It's out of Colorado and you can buy it on amazon or at their web site. I have read this will not trigger a drug test failure because the THC content it too low. Check out the lab results on their site for more information. Dispensary Made Tinctures and Pills - My local dispensary creates different formulas in tinctures and pill form so I know where it's coming from and I trust them more than an anonymous company. For the CBD tincture they do a 1:1 of THC and CBD, for the pill I have had they do 15mg THC 25mg CBD
The thoughts behind the 1:1 is that the THC is canceled out by the same amount of CBD, but you need a little THC for the CBDs to actually work/get where they are going.
There are other solutions for spasms., At least some work for some people. When I started exercising with my FES bike on a regular basis, I was able to stop taking baclofen. My leg spasms have virtually disappeared. my next-door neighbor, who is a paraplegic and also use my bike several times a week, has noticed that if she does not ride for a few days, her spasms get substantially worse.

Several months ago they voted on legalizing it in Georgia. I hope that it does become legal sometime in the near future. My husband who passed away 6 years ago, said that he had planted some pot in the neighbor's woods. I wonder if it is still growing!

ladylimpsalot, he might have left you with a fortune!
Absolutely helps with spasms, spasticity and nerve pain as well as attitude but had to chill from using when my medical provider started drug testing.....Now it's back to vile opiates, bacflon, etc, which I despise for their vile side-effects....I'd move to Colorado if I could afford it...
Can you qualify for a backflow pump I didn't like the by mouth but the pump is okay
