Very interesting fishkybizniz! There is marijuana without the THC right? So you'd get the medical benefits without getting high? I think the USA might legalize it federally once we get it legalized here in Canada haha.
I am new to having a SCI. I have very high tone and some spasm as a result of a hockey injury. I have central cord syndrome. I have tried mm oil with minimal success. I wanted to try it vs vaporizing as it is supposed to last longer. Is vapping better. I am weenning off Backofen now before I try any more oil. Any advice is welcome. Any alternatives to help with tone are welcome. Thanks

DJ...the drug companies (whoever they are?) can isolate each ingredient in cannibus and already producing pills. However, doctors are only prescribing for cancer, neurological disorders and selective ailments that contribute to research at this time. When purchasing at dispensaries, the source is from the plants. The products there still having the DNA of cannibus, so everything has both THC and CBD. They may not be a 100% but the edible CBD I have taken has never given me a high. As for buds to vape, I've had some that do.

Hi Terry, I'm not sure what exactly the term mm oil is or how you used it? Cannabis is the only med that I have used for spasms and pain relief for the past 4 years, it took me quite a few months to wean off everything. Until recently "1 1/2 months" the only way I used cannabis was with a vaporizer, the effects are right away, very little smell. Now my producer sells sunflower oil with cannabis in it for cooking, I tried it and i love it, it is easy to regulate my intake which normally is a big problem with edibles. I now use edibles along with the vape and it's the best combination that I ever had. When edibles are consumed they pass thru the liver before entering the bloodstream , this changes the THC to a new chemical called hydoxy 11 with different and longer lasting effects. For me these work perfect combined with the odd vape and I'm good to go!
Thanks Will, can I ask what you use for your "odd vape". I looked at a few but without experience hands on it's hard to decide.
Glad to help. I use a portable battery operated vape made by "Ariser" model "Solo" . I can highly recommend, I bought my first one 4 years ago and after a couple years thought I'd better get a backup so after a lot of research on a new vape I ended up buying another Solo which I never use, my original is still going strong. What ever vape you decide on stationary or portable I would recommend going through a reputable dealer as there are lots of knock-offs on the market. 90% of the time when I vape I go thru a water path making it easier on the throat. My first vape cost me $229 , year and half ago my backup was $150 now? price keeps coming down. On a full charge I get around 6 or 7 12minute sessions before I recharge, you can also vape while plugged in. I have spent a lot of time reading and learning on the forums if you find one your interested in feel free to ask on how it's rated, I am familiar with most popular models.

Thanks for the info Will...I'll certainly look into this when I get back...I've been "old-school" in the past and used the paper-wrap method but found my lungs got all choked up and I'd rather not have to deal with enphysema on top of the issues I've now got.
ps: what an enlightend country we live in eh? (excuse the pun)
I’ve been reading about some articles on marijuana and how it can help me ease the pain and relax like blueberry strain. But I just can’t find the right strain that suits me. They all just make me stoned. Is there anyone who has tried using weed and maybe making some edibles out of it so it might not hit that hard. Any help or personal testimonials is much appreciated. Thanks
Yesterday my wife and i met a childhood friend who had a sadder story than mine. he's been addicted to heroin for over 18 years. the track marks on his arms make them look so deformed its frightening. Wife started to get afraid nudging me to move on in fear he might jump us, but to me he was still the kid i used to play with. like all others i've met he started out on weed. The difference between him and me is that i hate being dependant on anyone or anything be it for work, to get a coffee mug placed to high, getting up stairs and to control pain. yes frustrations are high when i'm in need even to take a panadol for a headache is a big deal for me. i explained to him my burning 24/24hr neuro pain which over my dead body will i take a pill to control. he got defensive and told me how life is hard and the addiction to strong. just got mad and told him each time you grab that needle you have a choice i do not.

I hear you delboy. As much as it sucks having SCI I too would much rather be a normal function member of society than some crazy drug addict. In the end both are in a crappy situation. Which is worse? Who knows.
Can medical marijuana be used openly in California? And, can it be transported across the US/Canada border?
I'm going to be spending most of the summer in Los Angeles, and am wondering if I can take my supplies down with me. (I will be driving) I'm renting a house with a lovely outdoor patio, and don't want to risk the neighbours calling the police. And of course, will need to get across the border!
Any thoughts or advice on this?

Q: Can people consume marijuana in public?
A: No. Marijuana use is allowed only on private property, not in parks or on sidewalks or anywhere where smoking is banned. People using marijuana in a public place can be subject to a $100 infraction. The fine increases to $250 in no-smoking areas. Also, mere possession is banned in schools or youth centers.
But pot users can consume in private clubs or at events that are licensed for on-site marijuana consumption and are not visible by people under 21 or from any public place.

Associating marijuana as a gateway drug to other drugs only applies to people who already have addictive traits. People who are suffering from neuro pain can also become addicted to prescription drugs and many damage their liver in the process.
Marijuana is a drug that is natural and organic; if it is grown properly. Marijuana has been around for a great many years and has been found to reduce pain without any serious side effects. Until you suffer the debilitating neuro pain and physically feel the relief offered from marijuana, while not damaging your organs, can you truly understand why a person suffering becomes a proponent of legalization. Governments are realizing that legalization will ultimately lower the end cost, allow for competition and raise the quality.
Smoking marijuana is just one way of ingesting the benefits. Just like prescription drugs, it takes some trial and error to determine the strain and dosage to determine what works for you so that you can work and live without any detriments.
