Hmm sounds like it's a neurological thing and that there's probably no actual itch. Be careful with you're scratching, you don't want to damage your skin!
My feet burn a lot of the time, especially on the soles and on the insides of the heels. The burning radiates up past my knees. Electrical zingers coming down the legs from the spinal cord and out through the toes meet the burning and it can get pretty awful. Currently having bad back spasms due to zingers, but spine itself is OK. Sometimes I feel as if the flesh on feet and legs is sticking to my bed sheets and will rip off when I turn, so I try to lie still. Warm weather makes this more intense, but I need to keep a light cover on my legs to keep them warm or it is worse still! I cannot take opiates, makes me nauseated and very constipated, and now with new heart med are not a good interaction. I am researching PEA (palmitoylethanolamide) for neuropathic pain relief, and am using R-alpha lipoic acid with some success in managing the burning feet. I hope to post shortly about PEA, which has proven very successful alone or better yet in combination with R-ALA.
It will be interesting to read about PEA...wavewolf but i will certainly try the R-ALA
Does anyone here ever get purple feet. Mine have been purple the last few mornings, my wife wants me to wear socks in bed but I find them too uncomfortable. The purple colour seems to go after my shower.

R-ALA is more bioavailable to body, so more bang for buck! I take one 100m table with morning meal and another 100m with evening meal. No negative side effects.
Hi all, With regards to burning feet, I have suffered with a burning left leg and right arm since my accident. Last year I was bitten on my right arm by a Mozzi and the burning & stinging in my hand increased quite a bit. Last night I was again bitten on my knee by something and now today I have a left leg and foot that feels as thought it is on fire. Have any of you experienced anything like this Just putting pressure on it seems to send the burning up my leg.

I have the same Butiki. My left foot is worse. I always thought it must be bad circulation. Strange part is it looks the purple moves.

I haven't really noticed an increase in burning but when there are a lot of Mosquitos around I feel like I have mosquito bites all over me even though I really don't. Probably has nothing to do with my injury though, lol.
Thanks Lara / DJ, I have been bitten by Mozzi's before but just these two times it has really increased the pain. It my be the location if it aggregates a nerve. But last night it was burning badly and half way throughout the night I hung it out of the bed covers but my leg kicked out in spasms as usual and have kicked the bed post and cut the top of my foot, if I could control the spasms I could be better that the karate Kid LOL.

Ouch! barny! I hang my legs out of bed too...my feet burn insanely at night during the summer....
Maybe your brain is aware of something going on there because of the bites but cant figure it so the burning increases so you check it out...

Oh my, sorry to hear that barny! Spasms can be pretty annoying sometimes!
More so during when the temperature of my body or the surrounding air is warm, but not while I have shoes on and putting pressure on the soles. I always sleep with my feet outside the covers unless the temperature is about 55 or below.
I have found during the day I can soak them in cold water to relieve the burning sensation for the most part since we don't have an air conditioner to make the house cooler. If it is a warm night, I find using some form of ingestible or inhalable cannabis also alleviates the burning sensation. I have not tried topical cannabis for this, but maybe one that is high in CBD would work.
In some rare cases I have also used numbing cream you usually buy for waxing/electrolysis (amazon has some) and that has worked to some extent but not 100% of the time.
This might be too much TMI, but I also get itches from my calves down when my nether regions are sweaty. Those get annoying really fast because the itches also trigger my conus if I don't itch them with in milliseconds.
I am curious about anyones experience with burning feet and menopause. Is the burning sensation worsen because of hot flashes? I was half awake the other night when I had burning feet and thought maybe something like a menthol cream might help too. I would be interested in hearing if anyone has tried that.

I gotta try that out sometimes! My feet are always in shoes or under covers and are rarely out in the open. I'm sure they'd love to get soaked in cold water!
