They offered me the same device, they make them right around the corner from our local hospital. I've heard great stories about them. I've also heard people who wished they hadn't. They have to replace it after so long, change the battery or something, that bothered me a bit. Plus the fact it was another operation close to the cord which made me nervous.
I hope someone here had success with the implant and will chime in.
This is a Medtronic site about "recalls". Is it about the implanted device they are offering you, tj? www.healthycanadians.gc.ca/recall-alert-rappel-avis/hc-sc/2014/38535r-eng.php Purpose of this recall is to inform about changes to the adverse event labeling for Medtronic spinal cord stimulation therapy. The issue is the potential for patients to experience spinal cord compression weeks to years after implant of spinal cord stimulation (SCS) lead. Spinal cord compression can lead to neurological deficit due to the formation of reactive fibrous tissue, sometimes with an inflammatory component. the time to onset for spinal cord compression ranges from weeks to over 17 years, and may progress after lead removal.

Wow!!!!! Now I am sure that I am not having anything to do with it. Thank you so much!!!!!!
Yes, you're welcome. Though it gives certain serial numbers which may be different from what they will offer you. Nevertheless, with a little research, you'll be able to find out if they are all similar.
So my husband is a paraplegic and in immense pain, his work insurance is no longer active and now his SSD insurance wont cover his previous pain clinic. Every doctor i've tried to refer him to has denied him as a patient. anyone ever have this problem? i'm running out of options and he's nearing the last of his meds.... idk what to do?!?!?!?!?!
