You are no doubt right too DJ...its just a different perspective.
From a walking benefit point of view i would say the exoskeleton offers more health benefits and more independence...but its debatable lol
More health benefits for sure but more independence I'd think not. It moves extremely slow and you can't even get into vehicles while wearing it. That's a huge limiting factor!
Remember the first cell phones (the ones in the big black bag), about the size of a shoe box. This is a great first step, pun intended.
I know what you mean kilg0retr0ut and that's what I've said. I'll only take this over a power chair whenever it becomes compact and practical.
We were comparing standing chairs DJ...not power chairs. Many people will appreciate the independence at home even....i dont think this is meant to be a device that is used all day. As with many mobility aids...it is to be used as required and an additional aid to what you have already.
The health benefits will be significant in helping with spasticity...bone density..circulation...cardiovascular and bowels to name some.
I thought you may have enough function to try this out DJ?

I'm refering to the standing power chair as simply a power chair Lαrα. I have a glider standing frame so I already get the same health benifits as I would with the Exoskeleton. Other than walking around for fun in an open area, I think it's unpractical the way it is now especially after seeing what it looked like in the FIFA clip.

DJ, do you use a standing wheelchair? I don't find mine to be very practical at all. Tell me how to get more use from it! Lara, I think you are right in that I would use the exoskeleton for therapy first and the added practibility would be a bonus.

dlevy, I has a standing power chair on trial for 2 weeks a while ago and I did not like it. I loved the idea but when I finally got the chance to try it out, I knew it wasn't for me. With that said, the Exoskeleton looks just as bad if not worse! I honestly think that it'll only be practical for those with an injury in the lumbar region.
