I've been researching herbal medicine for years, and someday I hope to go to school for it and get my certificate in Homeopathy. Sadly, I haven't found anything to relieve my nerve pain yet. I occasionally use peppermint/spearmint oil on my right knee. (I have a torn ligament & shredded meniscus and my knee dislocates whenever I stand and put weight through it.)
I use tea tree oil on the eczema in my ears. Capsaicin, which is found in hot peppers like chiles, jalapenos, etc., desensitizes nerves and is sometimes helpful for nerve pain, from my experience.
Thanks for the info Knight! I think natural medicine is best kind of medicine out there and they should really focus on finding natural sources for medications. I like hot peppers/jalapeño peppers so I'll give that a try as well
Have you tried vaping high in CBD cannabis? The Indica strain cannabis is super calming. Also help insomnia.
Dang, I could spend my days on this forum. I too, fishkybizniz take gabapentin (4800mg/day in 3 doses). And I’d like to reduce my dependence upon my particular cocktail which I’ve had for at least 10-15 years. I also take a small dose of methadone (2.5mg am, and 5mg pm), some clonazepam (helps me go to sleep) and the ubiquitous antidepressant (Prozac). I also vape MMJ and I don’t mind the high at all 😏. I’m a bit worried on how to switch from being drug city to more natural ingredients. Will follow that thread definitely. Thank you all.
Getting off meds is a bit of a dance. Remember, the brain is always on high alert its return signals are wrong. First step for me was taking all meds scheduled. Taking as needed allowed pain to build. Henched my ability to move..you know that drill. By taking scheduled I use less. I guess because I'm on top of the pain? If you try go very very slow. Gabapentin, drop 1 pill a week or two. Yes, just one. Then two, etc. Our bodies go through a chemical change. Important to give it time to adjust. You'll still need the medication but it's better for the liver to get rid of excess you don't need.
