Hi Guys just spent 5 days hols in France, such a wonderfull, place oh my poor shoulders but worth every minute of it here are some pic i tool
National museum entrance stunning water feature, such a wonderful view
Myself near the water feature
Hotel room with accessible bathroom and small kitchen, the hotel is part of the ACCOR group which has over 2500 hotels word wide. i would highly reccomend this 4 star hotel. Pic taken from bed, BTW one double bed, one single bed and another bed which can be drawn out from under the double bed Ie the room can accommodate 4 beds, but no good for hanky panky if your a bit noisy. Lol Location of hotel 10 min from port centre.
Port marina shown in back ground full of boats, The marina is full of restaurants, all prices are sort of similar but some offer better food quality than others, had a wonderful time eating sea food there.
Penny and Martina in front of basilica, sorry but this church as no wheelchair access
delboy! Looks like you all had a great time and i love the pics..the weather looks perfect
The review is just perfect and im sure very useful for someone visiting the area..oh but the wheeling took its toll ..i bet it was worth it though!! lol....did you go inside the museum?
Yes Lara, there was an art gallery showing works of picasso and many other famous painters on our visit day, however they did not let us take pics. Sad some paintings we saw where priceless, security was tight too.
Hey there is so much more we did. I think it is also interesting for people with access problems too.

What can i say delboy except im jealous! I want to go now, ive had no holiday since my injury and im ready for one. I love the pictures too, very nice and a happy family
I have been 3 times to France Paris, Orlean and Marsielle, i do not speak the language but can speak, English, and Italian, Martina has French classes and sort of got the jist of signs and writings however we did not encounter lang problems. i was impressed at the shuttle service from airport. the taxi did not turn up but the buses worked fine and where cheaper too. the trams have excellent access. I take it you have young kids right, a trip to disney or Astericks park would suit them fine .Paris truly is also a very romantic city should you wish a nice moment with hubby too. i suggest a night boat trip on the siene, just two glasses and a half bottle of wine will do fine. sigh Hats of to penny she plans each hour to minute detail and does a lot of research too. i think the best of the best of my hols was Paris. Should you need private info about prices and places to visit do not hesitate to contact us. Sigh all our hols come to end next week, and so will my time at this forum, so nice meeting you wonderful people i will pop in but not as much as i do now.
delboy thanks for sharing the lovely pictures and telling us about the area! I see that you've had an excellent time and I'd love to go visit France now as well! That hotel bathroom truly does look wheelchair accessible, it's very open and spacious and everything is roll in. It's too bad the church wasn't accessible but it looked really nice Some pictures are very small, did you resize them?
When injured i was full of uncertainty. How could i teach plumbing and electricity to students from a wheelchair. my my not only have i been on a holiday in France but i have also had a teaching experience in France to. I did this with the teacher exchange programme and taught level 3 French students for 1 week. It was a lovely experience. I ve applied to do the same in Italy as my first choice for 2018,
Me with Air conditoning and plumbing teachers both are women
When I was in the Masters in Foreign Languages program, I'd looked into doing linguistics research in Australia. I wasn't disabled at the time. There were scholarships available to go there and 'map' aboriginal languages. But the areas where those languages exist aren't wheelchair accessible.
I hope I'll get to travel again someday, as you have, delboy. Your photos are lovely.
Travel is such a nice experience. I have my own log list. it also includes asking the width of lifts and bathroom doors. Will be visiting Holland in July on a private family holiday. Flights were ok but accommodation 3 star is much more than our 5 star in peak season.
