I appreciated reading the information on scar tissue and how it prevents regeneration of the nerves. I have to admit I had a very difficult time understanding all of the wording and therefore could not find a way to resolve this issue. how do you get rid of scar tissue? Is there a way to prevent it.

brenda17171717,im so pleased that you have told me that it wasnt so easy to understand so that i can improve it. Ive just come to bed here in the UK as its 1 am but please come to the post tomorrow and i will write a clear explanation for you.
Unfortunately, scar tissue causes a block that the nerves cannot get through. The scar tissue is meant to protect but in the same process it causes a significant problem and thats the million dollar cure!
brenda17171717, welcome to the forum! These are not easy topics to comprehend--yeah, I'm not a brain surgeon either! From what I have read of others experience about scarring, it can occur naturally in response to either traumatic injury or a disease process, or it can occur after surgery to repair either of those. Some people scar more heavily than others. Some scarring may be able to be repaired with more surgery, and some is so complex that a surgical option is too risky. SCI and its complications can make for some really tough choices.
Thankyou wavewolf, for helping out with explaining..The easiest way for me is to think of the gateway being closed, signals cannot get through due to the build up of scar tissue.
Its a physical blockage, there is no cure for it, yet.
