How do quadriplegics catheterize themselves?

I was new too this and had a bag! Which was not good hanging all over where you went! So I saw nurse in hospital who recommended vaproplus it's do it yourself! Will bag at the end! I use round 5 a day! So easy and clean! Being out you can use it too or get mini Cather in tubes! I thank the nurse who showed me and said here you go flowers! Now take the pxxx out of yourself! You can ask your gp too get them sent too you every month!

Thanks for the video Lαrα, the bungee cord idea is a good one, that's what I need! I cringed when I saw him touch his catheter after touching the extension tube lol. I think I'd rather empty into a bag or empty water bottle or whatever.

The speedcath I have tried but didn't like it as it's pipe is too thick and not flexible! But not bad too use if out and about!

Hello, has anyone tried Cath-Hand by Manfred Sauer UK, I'm in the U.S. and need this, however they don't ship here

Can anyone tell when you guys cath? quads and upper paras wont have bladder sensation right? How do you know when you have to cath? and if you drink more coke or water, it would come out faster. So how do you manage?

Btw, telling about me, I am a para and I use condom catheter with a leg bag. I normally use pants/tracks so I have leg bag inside. I get weird cramp like sensation(therapist said it is bladder reflex) when there is EXACTLY 200 ml inside my bladder and would flow out in less than a minute/30 seconds. I cannot do anything other than checking my cath if it is intact and is in place. I mostly hold it so that it wont come off because of force but not every day is mine.

So, my doubt is how do you guys manage with these kind of caths? Is bladder reflex not common? Doesnt your bladder empties itself after certain quantity? how will you know that you reached that quantity and how will you know when to cath? When will you cath if you drink lot of water?

Lots of questions there but I am just trying to understand so that it may help me.
