I have residual complications from CES. My left foot is twisted towards the left, so the right side of my foot never lays flat. In a few days I'm heading to the Mayo clinic for a tendon transfer surgery. The goal is to get my foot back to a normal position. I thought this may be interesting for others with similar conditions.
Very interesting kilg0retr0ut, how'd you find out about this? Anyways, I've heard that mayo clinic is one of the best so you'll be in good hands. Good luck!

I can only wear my AFO's for sort periods, most of my weight pushes to the outside edge of my left foot. My skin is pretty thin and the sores haven't helped. It was this or move into a chair semi-full time. It's in my future, just trying to put it off as long as I can. My doctor said he thought they may except me at Mayo. The great god luck-a luck did me a favor and I was accepted.
Thank you Butiki, I'm hoping the same thing. They told me I had to stay off me feet for 10 weeks, some rehab, then the other leg. If it works it'll be well worth it.

Thanks friends, Im home now. I had to stay there longer than expected, they wanted the swelling to go down before putting on the cast. I'll post more later about the procedure.

Just to add some info on the surgery. First I want to say Mayo is first class. I had to wait in line and the attendant said something like" just finishing up with the Dali Lama, sorry for your wait." I thought the guy was being sarcastic, but there it was on the evening news. So that was interesting. I'll attach a pick of my frankenfoot. I have to admit this was more than I was expecting. This is the good side I'll try to get the notes on what happened exactly.

I have no idea. 2 weeks ago they pulled off the splint I had since surgery (5 days). I had a small pressure sore on the top of my foot. Didn't know one could appear so fast. They put some tape like patch on it and the stitch sites and spun me a cast. I was told to call if it felt this or that and to check my toe's. Hehe, I don't know what I feel, doesn't feel much different than wearing my winter boots. I admit I feel the soreness on the right side, not much from the left. I guess I find out soon, I'm getting the stitches removed in a couple days.
I'm sure the Lyrica and Tramadol help with the pain. The neuro stuff has felt like electric sperm swimming in my leg lately.( not that bad) One of my worries before surgery was getting a episode of shocks after the surgery, and that happened the day after, been good since then. I'm hoping all is good, still eight weeks I'm suppose to be off my foot, guessing they'll put me in another cast.
