I have finally received my new electric powered chair. EZ Lite Cruiser DX 12 folding portable wheelchair.
After careful consideration covering everything from air travel portability to budgetary limitations. I first tossed around the idea of getting individual hub motors for my folding chair. It would have been considerably cheaper but there were no local or even continental (NA) dealers and all purchases would have been direct from some jobber in china. After looking around it apeared that the chair everybody over there was copying was this one.
This thing has an outstanding warranty, and free shipping in the US and Canada, comes in various sizes, and has manually adjustable recline. With the larger of two batteries, you can roll up to 25 km at 8 km/h. Only weighs 60 pounds. For somebody like me, who is very weak in the arms, it probably makes more sense to carry one of these as a backup/emergency chair in my van want to go on trips, then a manual chair. if my power chair ever craps out on a trip, I am pretty much screwed right now. Oh, and it's not made in China!
