Hello Everyone, I got a new wheelchair a month ago and have had to go back to the dealer three times for adjustments. My problem is that the seat was to long for my little legs and the seat and cushion were rubbing against my calf. The dealer told me that it would not cause a pressure sore but I explained it was uncomfortable. So he did fold back the seat so I have enough clearance. My problem now is that my cushion is now to long for the seat. The dealer did adjust the privacy pouch in the back to make room for it but it takes me several tries to get it perfectly lined with the seat to prevent the rubbing against my calf. Should I call the Dealer a fourth time and ask if the cushion can be replaced to a true to size fit with the current seat length? Or should I just deal with it? I am annoyed they got the seat length wrong in the first place. I got my first chair at age five and have never had this issue. Please provide your opinion. Thank you
Hi Janice I seem to recall a long list of problems from Apparelyzed? Colour? Size? Smart Drive? Not returning calls?! Personally I'd reject the wheelchair as not fir for purpose and ask for a refund. Or insist they correct all of the problems! Did they fix everything else?

I agree with megatirig, sounds like the runaround. Obviously this dealer has never had a pressure sore. Good Luck, I hope you can resolve this quickly.
Hello Janice. It sounds to me like you have every right in the world to ask for a cushion that fits your chair. People wouldn't walk around in shoes that didn't fit properly. You probably use your chair continuously and so you should expect something that is comfortable and fit for purpose. I know how it feels when you have to keep asking a dealer to make corrections, but your dealer should have thought about these issues in the first place and not left it for you to find fault. Go for it. Don't be frightened. Think of yourself feeling miserable and uncomfortable while your dealer sits comfortably in the office in his oh so expensive swivel chair or at home in his plush armchair that he has bought by skimping on repairs and maintenance in order to maximise his profits.
I pretty much have gotten used to my other concerns and the others have been resolved. But this one has not. I have another apointment on Monday at 9. I am hoping they will get me a new cushion at no cost. So it fits the new seat length. I hate bugging them.

But you paid a lot of money for a very specialist product and they got it wrong putting your health at risk!!
megatrig, I definitely have all the health risks with the chair addressed and all have been fixed but the cushion. Which is a big one but hope to get it resolved on Monday. The remaining issues are ones that are cosmetic and have decided to accept it. It looks good for the most part. I have gotten used to the power assist, just had to use a different size wristband and practice with it.
janice111, sorry to hear about the trouble. They need to get this seating situation taken care of ASAP since it can affect your skin as earlier mentioned and possibly posture. Be sure to let us know what happens tomorrow!
Update: I am getting a new cushion that fits the new seat length and I am happy about it. I am also getting some touch up paint because I ordered a color (Satin Finish) that I was told would not show scratches easily but turns out it does. All of this is at no extra cost, thank goodness! I am supposed to email the main person I have been working with in a couple of weeks to get an update on the new cushion and paint. Thank you again for everyone's help with this. Hoping this will be my last adjustment!

Great update! Glad to hear that they've finally got it sorted and hopefully there aren't anymore issues.
