That article is from 2015 and before they did their site upgrade. Most of us long time CC users are already aware of that. Cali, did you see something about a new breech?I
crappler, thanks for noting the 2015 article date. I was just trying to give vintage, some more information about what the issue revolved around.
The breach I was made aware of was what I noted in the first post. I have a service that peruses the dark web for reports of activity involving accounts that I use and with that I get notices of intrusive activity.
Normally Ddos attacks and view layers of website hacks will not be considered a great threat. Most of such attacks will not be even mentioned to their users. I have gone through that 2015 article and I dont see any potential risk to users of website.
That middleman technique is also very old one. Now-a-days banks are not using session based logins and hence these things wont work anymore. Even if someone can can get into your bank accounts they cannot perform any activities unles they have your debit card grid details, transaction password, otp. These are all just to expose website poor security standards.
But the breach that califanna mentioned in her opening post is potential one. Someone had access to website ips, salts and all potential information to get into database. emails, passwords and other information you gave while creating login would be taken.
Change your password and that is all you can do as a user.

I received notice that my account in other sites may have been breached. Therefore they were giving me Lifelock services for free. Makes me wonder how safe any of these areas are!
