My van has had the winter snow and ice take its toll on the entire underside, especially where the lowered floor is tied into the front on the drivers' side. It was perfect when we got it but the salt and brine that they put on the roads around here. I want a full-sized van because just about everywhere we go there are speed bumps and the lowered floor catches on a lot of them. Our mechanic looked at it during routine servicing and found the problem. He showed it to us and called Braun but they passed the buck to their local dealer. He ended up calling a guy in Michigan that develops frames for NASCAR teams and he came down and looked at it because the photos he got just don't tell the whole story since there are a lot of things under the front end that are tied into that pan for the lowered floor. He said it could be fixed but it would cost 4 times what the van a 2002 Chevy Venture was worth. On top of that, it's all manual, the ramp, tie-downs, doors, and so on. On top of that, it's getting noisier and noisier just going at highway speeds. Now after taking it on vacation we ran into a really bad rainstorm and I could feel moisture coming from somewhere. I looked down and my dog had changed positions enough I could see all the way down to the road. There is a hole about the size of a silver dollar that is all rusty on the post that holds the door shut.
My question is how much would you pay for a brand new van? It can be a minivan or full-sized.
