I am adapting to everything at work getting around in my wheelchair,a high school principal and was the first day.Since I had my spinal stroke in March,I did have feelings that I missed walking around. It was also the first time rest of the staff and students seen me get around in my wheelchair. All I received were hugs and tons of encouragement from them.I love the changes in my office, the chair I sat in is gone and have room getting in with my wheelchair. So far everything is looking good.

Hello toughlady. It is wonderful to hear such a positive post about returning to work in a chair. Usually people say how different they feel, how isolated or disintegrated they are. You, on the other hand, have embraced the experience of returning to work. You have written about the love and affection you have felt from your colleagues, not about your problems and about how difficult things might be. I can see why you have called yourself toughlady. You are indeed a strong character.
How does school Admin compare to lecturing? Yet again i ve been given totally new topics to teach. Clockwork year in year out i have to start from scratch. Been locked in my room all weekend preparing schemes of work, Power points, notes and exam papers. Frustrated is an understatement.
