Yes. So far, he probably hasn't realized that he is even 'different'. When I was a teen-ager, I had a friend who was deaf. She wore a hearing aide,...and was several years older than me. She told me that she hadn't really realized she was deaf until she was about five years old. I can see how people could just assume that everyone else had the same challenges that they have until a certain age where reasoning and logic causes things to dawn on them.
