I know that some people boo hoo herbal medecine but I firmly believe in it, lets be honest, I bodies do not function within 'norms' so thinking outside the box is a must and more so when medical science does not have an solution.

I agree Lαrα! Herbal/natural medicine is always the best kinda medicine and you shouldn't knock it till you try it.
I too suffer from chronic UTI's however it has really improved over the years. In the beginning of my SCI days I was getting UTI's almost twice every month. I'm already resistant to one or two of the commonly used antibiotic for UTI. Now I get UTI's every few months. I really don't know what has changed to be honest. I wear a condom cath all day long because of leakage and cath 3 times a day. I think my UTI occurrence has gone down ever since cathing 3 times a day (previously 2) because I'm getting rid of the residual urine that sits in the bladder building up bacteria. Any time I feel a UTI coming on my mom makes some homemade barley water that I drink a few days in a row and it actually helps. Yes, the natural stuff works! I'm going to give vintage's concoction a try too as preventative maintenance and see how that goes.
Each of the first three herbs listed dissolves a different type of debris. So, using all three is best, but even if you only have one of the herbs, go ahead and use it.
DJ, during the year that I had the opportunity to “hang out” with Korean families, I too was served barley water. It was very pleasant. They may have been trying to tell me of the health benefits. That sounds vaguely familiar. But our communications were quite rudimentary, sometimes reduced to sign language. Even though the word for Korean Barley Tea is correctly “Bori Cha”, when I was dining at their table, my Korean friends simply called it “mul”, which means “water”. At one meal, a family member asked for more “mul” and the mother, in an embarrased tone, said they were out of “mul”. A scandal ensued. I asked, “How can you be out of “water”?”, and that’s when I found out that they were talking about the Barley Tea. Sadly, I had probably drunk more than my share due to the hot kimchi.

Update: I'm not sure if I read it here on this site/forum or somewhere else that oil of oregano has medicinal qualities similar to antibacterials or antimicrobials, so began taking oil of oregano in gel tablet form. I've been taking them for about a week now and I just realized yesterday that I smell Oregano when I urinate! This should make things a little weird when/if I'm incontinent in public!
