Dental issues Though not directly related to SCI, taking care of our teeth is just one more thing that we need extra help with.
I got to see a really nice dentist today. The tech tried to make a panoramic X-ray of my teeth, but couldn’t. The machine couldn’t make a rotation around my head, because it collided with the edge of my wheelchair. Smaller X-rays were taken. The dentist did his assessment. The assistent gave me a card to sign and turn over to the office, requesting government financial help. Yes, I’ll sign that card!!! $1,200 will help me keep my teeth. And the dental office will deal with getting the funding. This was a good day.
ill jump in on the good news bandwagon, going to Ballards Rehab hospital today and might possibly be admitted at that time, for acute rehab to get me more productive in society and myself, hopefully will be covered by medicare. dental work is so important that's great vintage.
Wellcare is available in 50 States. Wellcare will cover $1,500 of my dental needs. This amount is renewed each year. So, some things will have to wait until next year. But, I’m on the right tract and I now have a plan. The Wellcare representative came to my home and got me signed up.
I agree with you, Sam. Even my aunt was suffering from the same but really thanks to the uncle who got her enrolled under a required Medicare insurance plan which helped her in covering the dental treatment cost. This happened when my uncle got to know about the benefits of Medicare insurance from this site. Due to the availability of such insurance plan, people can now take a sigh of relief and can enjoy the perks of a healthy life.
As a quad I have a hard time with dentists, I finally went to the county dentist who referred me to the dental collage which refused to even see me and told me I had to go to the state hospital about 2 hours away. After two trips I got my teeth fixed but what an ordeal.
dewy,...yes, the system makes things even more difficult for the handicapped than it is for able-bodied. Such a backward and unkind way of arranging things.

I have many problems with my teeth because I didn't care enough for them as a child. My parents tried to make me, but I refused. Because of that, I lost many teeth at an early age. I was complex and tried to smile as little as possible for a long time. After saving up money, I decided to get implants. I found an amazing clinic jeffreygrossdds.com/services/implant-dentistry-lake-county-ohio/ and went to them. It's a great clinic; they put me on quality implants; moreover, I did not feel any discomfort during the operation.
