I have to “pick one” and ask for it through my doctor. Could someone here recommend a particular brand for me? Any warnings?

hi vintage, im in the process of acquiring a new powerchair through medicare. I have an appt to get fitted or measured on 10/31 and I was going to push for a standing wheelchair with Numotion, the powerchair manufacturer. I should have more info in the coming weeks.

My need for info is more urgent than ‘weeks’. My social worker called me last night, and she wanted to know ‘on the spot’ which one I want. I was dumbfounded.

It’s a front wheel drive. Only downside i think is that it’s a heavy chair ( but what power chair isn’t )

I was looking on the website and there are so many with different features, does the f5 allow you to stand while operating?

vintage, sam, yes you can stand and drive. I wasn’t aware there where multiple models. I have a F5 Corpus VS, VS just means vertical stander. On mine I can tilt back, forward to get things out of cabinet, stand and drive, elevate, lay completely flat. Probably a few other things I can’t think of off the top of my head

I talked to a lady at a dealership. She was very negative about my possibility of getting a standing wheelchair. Plus, I need to wait one more year before the government insurance would cover it (even if I could qualify). But, I know that it would greatly improve my quality of life.

As it is now, I would have to do a ‘go fund me’ or someone would have to donate one.
