Thanks for the update goisgo !
I'm getting the doctor to give me approval/prescription today and will see how it goes. Asked the medical supply place if there was any kind of nurse I was supposed to go through but apparently there is none in BC, Canada! So I'm kind of on my own figuring it out other then reading info online and possibly getting some links to how to videos!
But let me get this clear, you do 3 x each time? So back to back filling/clearing/filling/clearing/filling/clearing in one go?! Why did you change up on the whole put it in - wait for 10-20 mins and then release? Just curious in the change in procedure since it sounds so different then what they recommend.
My issue is that I've been having to really eat a lot of fibre (My routine is late afternoon/evening) and then having a good go, but then SOMETIMES needing to go again 30-1 hour later. But if I don't fibre up it all becomes very inconsistent in time so then it's even MORE randomized. The strange thing is I never had this issue all throughout my late teens/20's but started having these issues once I turned about 34! Now I don't feel the same amount of confidence as I did before and also have a lot of embarrassing gas as well as super spastic legs. I know for certain though it's due to the large amount of fibre I eat, but I can't really avoid it if I have to do a Bowel routine :/ Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
I'm really hoping this helps my issue although I'm also worried about negative side effects with peristeen.
Hello again,
1) Yes look on youtube, good Vids (from users and from coloplast).
2) I have problems with too much water at once. With the step-by-step I clear my bowel: the transverse, left spenic and descending colon. Thats enough for me. Trying hard to use more water, its a risk for "later" accidents, if the stool comes down perhaps..... 2-3 hours later (in my case, every case is different). Check it out with less water, 200 ml for the beginning. And my strategy is not time intensive - you see, max. half hour I am ready to go.
Had a good telephone with coloplast germany. They told me, there is a different "view" between many USA users and here in germany. The 750 - 850 ml method is more a "bowel washing" :-) But we want to irrigate and stimulate the bowel. And there are ppl who use just 200 ml and its good and enough.
3) Understand you so good. We just search for a bowel routine that gives us confidence. Hope peristeen will help you. Listen to your own body, and check it.
Wish you all the best ! And contact me whenever you want.
