I have been having issue with UTI'S and for the last year I have been taking the last antibiotic that will work. Here is the thing, I take a 7 day dose then one tablet once a day for 30 days but when I run out of the last pill I get a full blown uti the very next day with all the symptoms. When I get this infection my bowels also get irritated and swell which then I can't move my bowels. I am c5, 6, and 7 incomplete and don't cath and injured for 17 years. I suggest cath but my doctor says that will open me up to more infections but I am not emptying completely. anyone have any suggestions I could try?
you need a transurethral resection, or a TUR (this is basically trimming the prostate gland so that urine can flow more easily). Maybe your bladder sphincter muscle needs cutting. I don't know what country you're in, but if you're in the UK you should see your consultant and ask for a cystoscopy with a view to an operation. You've got to get on top of these infections. Sounds like you are running out of options regarding antibiotics. So what antibiotics no longer work and what antibiotics are you currently taking?
im in canada and as of now the only medication that keep the symptoms away is clamoxin and im after going through all other meds and they have now stopped working so im on my last resort
Hi, regular79. I’m sorry you are having this, whatever the cause may be. I don’t remember if I’ve already given you my ‘alternative therapy’ suggestions. “The kidneys are sophisticated processing machines. Since the kidneys are essentially filters, it makes good sense to clean these filters with periodic cleansing. A proper diet, as well as a periodic kidney cleanse, is essential to the health of the kidneys. Unlike the liver, the kidneys do not regenerate themselves.” drclarkstore.com/dr-clark-purity-kidney-cleanse-directions/
Certain herbs and roots are very good for cleaning out the urinary tract. I buy these herbs and make a tea with them. I always use a glass or enamel pan, not metal. When your urinary tract is full of debris, infections keep coming back.
First I would try a different urologist. The statement that intermittent catheterization would introduce more infection contradicts all the research. Second, if you have funds to see one visit a good acupuncturist/herbalist practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine. They can use herbal remedies that will keep infection at bay but in Canada they are limited to remedies prepared for each patient rather than premixed pills marketed through practitioners. This legal restraint makes treatment more expensive. I get good results with this approach but live in the USA where supplements are readily available.
I step in the water, but the water has moved on...
