Welcome to the forum honey, I do think it is possible to dilute but maybe this is better done with saline. It is best to ask your doctor further on this as you need to be sure on the amount of saline in ratio to vetericyn you will need to use.
You may need to calculate the cost of saline in relation to the vetericyn you are replacing.
I'm very happy to find your post about UTI and to hear about Vetericyn and Puracyn. Thanks for sharing.
I've been struggling with chronic UTI for years. I'm alway with some kind of bladder or urethra pain and I take antibiotics in acute crisis (witch, unfortunately, is very often). Some doctor suggested I might have Interstitial cystitis as they don't understand why pain does't go totally away after antibiotic treatment. A doctor in the Uk, said to me for the 1 st time something that really make sense: I have bacterial biofilm in the bladder and urethra which is very difficult to destroy just with antibiotic intake. A urine broth culture revealed e-choli and enterococcus and they told me that they are trying to formulate a solution that can go into the bladder. So maybe there's my solution! I live in Portugal and I don't have many support from my doctors about experimental procedures regarding UTI and biofilm. I might have to do this alone, by my own. So I would like to check the procedure with you if its ok I have to buy a thin catheter and a syringe. I have to empty the bladder first (I have to pee) and to introduce the catheter linked to the syringe previously filed with Vetericyn (aprox 20cc) and inject it into the bladder. Right? Do I have to use again the catheter to make the product out or it can just stay in and naturally go out when peeing? Thanks for your help and hope to hear from you soon.
ps: do you this I should start with Puracyn and if I see no results go to vetericyn as it is a stronger version?

As mentioned by Lαrα, there should be no problem with diluting with saline. I'd say a 1:1 ratio would be best for efficiency and effectiveness but it's really up to you.

Sorry to hear about the chronic UTI's, I know just what you're going through. Since you're using vetericyn instead of puracyn and vetericyn is stronger than the two, I'd suggest diluting with saline as mentioned above if you plan on keeping it in the bladder and if you don't want to dilute it, I'd say it's best to just drain it out after you've flushed the bladder. As far as the procedure goes, what you've said is correct. Drain the urine from the bladder first and then use a new catheter to fill the bladder with the solution.
I've gone for the puracyn myself just because it's effective but not too strong. With the puracyn I'd sometimes leave it in and sometimes I'd drain it. Come to think of it, it has been a while since I did a flush so I gotta do one soon!

Hello guys! I see these posts are a few years old so I was wanting to catch up on how the Vetericyn worked? I hope you guys are still around and still get notifications when someone response to this!! I don't know why all the comments stopped all the sudden!! I am a T4 paraplegic since 1998. I have many uti's a year..abough one a month! I feel like I keep a uti constantly! I've heard about ventricyn before years ago but when I search for it online I get results of forums like in here. Can someone pls gell me how everything came out and if your still using it?? I hope that it has been working for you all these years!!
I haven't used this in a while since I don't think I have a UTI but when I did use it, I think it worked well. The vetericyn did very slightly irritate the bladder since my bladder had the urge to release it all shortly after putting it into the bladder but it could be just the pressure of inserting something into my bladder that caused my bladder to spasms and push everything out. However when I did feel like I had UTI symptoms, I did the flush and felt like it got better.
The thread recommends Vetericyn VF I have gone to both sites for Puricyn and Vetericyn and there are so many choices. I see Plus, and I see Wound Care, eye care, ear care.... I do not want to make a mistake. I do not see VF. Can you be very specific about which one I should order.? Since I am trying this for the first time, I want to be totally safe. I think I have the treatment plan well understood. I am really tired of the antibiotic cycles that do not work effectively.

VF is no longer available. A money and license conflict. You want the one that is liquid, without a spray nozzle.
Tetra is right! Also consider D-mannose as alternative prevention of UTIs and/or treatment of beginning UTIs. Do search on this site, and also internet search--there is a lot of info. I am too weak to write more now, except to say that after years of recurrent UTIs I have been free of infection with prophylactic use of D-mannose on regular basis for almost 5 years! Bing immune suppressed (treatment for autoimmune issues), this is remarkable. I am diabetic and it has not affected my blood sugar levels--not absorbed but eliminated in urine.

brandonbynum11, I’ve been using Vetericyn for about 5yrs and haven’t been sick with a UTI since. I see your post has been up awhile and you’ve probably resolved the issue but just thought I would throw my 2 cents in just in case
