Right now I am dealing with another bladder infection and being treated with IV meds.A couple of years ago I bought some bottles of Vetericyn VF. I’m not sure but I think at that time they had changed the formular and I noticed that they no longer put on the bottle that it kills germs and other things so I have been afraid to use it.Is there anyone who still buys this and uses it for a bladder wash and if so is it still working ok.I really need to do something because every three months I get an infection.
I make a tea of marshmallow root, gravel root, and hydrangea root. Drink only a little at first,...maybe a quarter cup. Refrigerate it, and drink a half cup after a couple of hours. Spike it with some black cherry juice. This makes it more effective. It dissolves debris in the urinary tract. Google the ingredients. It’s “common knowledge” within alternative therapy. Debris gone; germs have no home; infection gone. Please make sure none of your medications conflict with this old pioneer remedy.
See “Not intended to treat” disclaimer on this site. But they sell marshmallow root. stamsons.com/products/althaea-althaea-officinalis-35-grams?variant=914743867 Urinary system: Marshmallow is a diuretic and is good for the kidneys. One of Dr. Christopher's students gave her son a marshmallow root to chew on when he was doubled over in pain from severe kidney pain from being unable to void his urine. Within seconds of chewing the root he was able to void his urine, and received relief from the excruciating pain. It is helpful in dealing with gravel, inflammation of the kidneys, cystitis, and bladder infections.

Sorry to hear of your condition. Are you Catheterised like me. If so I found the danger time for becoming unwell was after a tube change. I now take cefelexin for three days before each tube change. This works for me. Also drinking lots of water. I have never had a bladder washout so can't really comment about it. Prevention has to be top priority. Hope you feel better soon.
I drink a large cup of dandelion herb coffee mixed with marshmallow tea, milk thistle and matcha first thing in the morning and some days I will have peach tea that has rosehips, hawthorn, hibiscus, blackberry leaves and citric acid and I add lemon juice to it. I have to take antibiotics every three months and it messes up my stomach. I was very disappointed that they had to give me IV antibiotics. I have been doing all I can think of. I have a stomach on my side that I do intermittent catch every few hours. I clean the stoma with the same scrub that Doctors in the operating room use to wash with before operating on people. When I take my showers I use pure castle soap that has tea tree oil in it on my whole body making sure to get the private areas good and I also put a little betadine on my wash cloth and clean and rinse real good. I asked the urologist what else can I do and he said there isn’t anything else I can go but I’m not going to give up. I am going to get the hydrangea, gravel root, black cherry juice and mix it with the marshmallow root that I already have. I hope it will help. I don’t think I can do low dose antibiotics because it would mess my stomach up. Thank you for responding.
There are more elaborate (and expensive) collections, but I haven’t had to get those. Here’s a page of them. drclarkstore.com/searchresults.html?keywords=Kidney+herbs The difference is, I believe, that I don’t use a catheter to pee. When I did, I got UTI’s constantly. Now I just wear a diaper. When I get the beginning of a UTI, I drink my kidney herb tea, and that fixes it. Of course, not everyone can pee into a diaper. I make it sounds so delightful. Lol.

I have similar thoughts - I bought a bottle but so far haven't had the nerve to try it . . .
The manufacturing formula for vetericyn is older. Anecdotally I have heard people say it stings and that’s part of why the original guidance on it was to dilute. I use (undiluted) microcyn ah in rotation with other stuff my (SCI specialized) urologist has signed off on. I used to be pretty casual about flushing my bladder, but I had 5 sepsis admissions in 9 months and I am no longer even remotely casual and am plagued by neither sepsis nor UTIs.
