Hello, I can't walk, but I find I can ride an ebike. Anyone who thinks that might work for them, I encourage you to try. I can get on the bike and go independently outside to see the neighborhood. I have a step through(we don't call them girls bikes anymore!) which allows me to get off and on more easily. They make 3 wheeler models as well. I built a trailering device so I can pull a wheelchair behind me so I can go places.. Anyone else tried an electric bike?
We are in the UK but have read a lot about cycling with a disability. There is a charity which has lots of centres around the UK where you can have a go at cycling on different sorts of adapted bikes. Peter is keen to have a go but we will leave it till the weather is a bit more friendly - lashing winds and a lot of rain recently. But Spring is just around the corner..........
"Cycling Projects is a national UK cycling charity which promotes inclusive cycling through a range of successful community engagement programmes that give people the opportunity to cycle on a regular basis; through help, support and guidance.
Most noticeably this is all achieved through its two nationally acclaimed initiatives Wheels for All and Pedal Away"
