this centre is in Newmarket, Ontario and uses a unique training philosophy. regardless of injury level and degree of impairment they train the whole body by exercising the nervous system rather than focusing only on muscles you can move. its a 3-hour intensive program that will leave you very sore the next day in a really good way and all the parts you thought you couldn't feel anymore.
i'm 17 years post-injury and just started training with them and feel very hopeful that I will improve.
Walk it off is an excellent place! nikita, I've been going every Wednesday since the beginning of 2012! What days do you go there?
i'm there on Thursdays...they had me on the treadmill this week and doing full situps using a barbell for momentum...words can't describe how fantastic I think they are...wish it was around years ago...how has it been for you DJ? have you noticed any improvement?

Ah I see, that's great to see that you've been on the treadmill I love it, I've definitely gotten stronger since going there so I'll continue to go as long as I can!
Hi, I had to choose between them and Journey Forward on the outskirts of Boston. In the end I went to Boston for a month and I saw an improvement in my core strength. When you're from out of town, the costs really add up. I would love to go back but funds are a little low and I have recently eased back into work so have no time or energy to return. I am thinking that I would like to try other centre's to see if they offer something better/different. There is a great advantage if I can get there with my own wheels, makes me more independent between treatments.
I wish they had this kind of program near where I live, but alas there is nothing apart from rehab physio at our hospital and the gym I'm about to join. I just looked at the website, it looks very promising.
