I've been a quad c4/c5 for 21 years now. My diet is what most would consider very healthy "salad/protien/ low desserts" cranberry juice, 3000ml of water everyday. I've always done a bowel program every other day with success and very rare accidents. My regimen is 1 colace every day, 2 senokot the day before bowel program, 1 Magic Bullet the morning of "dispels the more solid stool within 30ish min" Then a second Magic Bullet/digital stimulation "dispels the softer stool". I usually know I'm done when my sphincter is tight, I have AD, and the last bit of stool is accompanied by a liquid substance. My meds a day: 4 baclofen, 1 oxybutynin, multivitamin, probiotic, flaxseed oil, 1 low dose bactrum
Here's my issue, lately I've been having accidents. Maybe every other bowel program and about 4 hours later I "go". It's a very watery stool and "sorry sea food lovers" smells like crap and scallops. Has anyone had this issue and have insight? Thanks in advance!
I always had the "accompanied by liquid substance" discharge when using either the silver bullet or enemeez, both of which also produced a burning sensation. I also occasionally experienced delayed discharge. I switched to a warm water enema. I no longer experience the liquid discharge or the burning sensation and have experienced only one accident in the past 10-years or more.
Hi, Mark here. I have been a t2/3 para for close to 40 years. Over first 20 or so years the B was mostly manageable. Not to say it wasn't always in the back of my mind, yet was okay.
See, I don't know sort of routine you are on, but mine have always been every 2 days, in the evening. 1 hour is best case yet 2 hours was generally the rule of thumb. So these last 10 up until 5 years ago (I'll let you in on how I got my life back) I'd go about my business every other day for 1-2 hours. During those many years I would think I am down and then the feeling (hair standing up on your arms) yet 60% of the time, I was NOT! Race back to the washroom yet most times, too late
Been married now for going on 8 years and 5 years ago I read up on colostomy's They scared the he** out of me before yet I was intrigued. I was intrigued to be able to get those say 8 hours a week bac and have FULL control of my routines and no incidents at night. So I brought it up to my wife, sharing all I had learned about them. She says 'it's a no brainer Mark. I see how it effects you when things go wrong and you spend so much of your life in the washroom.
Well, the long and short is it is a game changer. Not sexy, that's for sure yet it gives me piece of mind that I will not have an accident in bed or while I am out and about. Even if you blow a flange, its a 10 minute fix. Waaaaay shorter than having it take place while shopping or whatever. There is no more of the absolute terror (me anyway) KNOWING you are fiddled and will be cleaning up all things for about what, 4 hours from when you get home, get out of the clothes 'carefully' shower change etc YET, your whole outing is done and you missed out/
Trips in the Silverado are worry free, hotels overnight worry free, wanna go overnight fishing, worry free. Heck wanna go to be early, no worries are you are IN control.
Done it and would never look back. Not for everyone, I know. But freedom, should be for everyone.
Sorry my first post is a bit of a run on. I sincerely hope it helps, friend.
