It has been almost a year and I have not had an infection. I wanted to share what is helping me and ask that you not give up searching and researching and trying new things. My doctors kept giving me antibiotics.pills.iv,picklines.and chest tubes, been there done that over twenty years. The herbs I take in hot tea helps, see my post earlier for that. But Ithis is my routine that is the winner for me.When I take my shower I put liquid soap that has natural ingredients on my wash cloth along with bedadine and I WASH my front and back privates then I rinse the area off well and I keep a squirt bottle with pari wash mixed with a couple of drops of bedadine in it and in between baths I squirt some on a adult wipes and clean my lower area. When I first tried this I did it after I finished my antibiotic. so I started off infection free.. All the antibiotics I took over the years has messed up my stomach and my digestive system, I had to do something on my own.Every three months I would get a infection. I hated hearing that I would have to get a picklines and they would always have problems putting it in. I hope that this will help someone,if so please let us know.
Sometimes such a simple but thorough and consistent hygiene protocol is what is needed! I seem to remember some people on this site using a bladder wash with gentle disinfecting action for infections that have traveled upward more. Since my UTIs were primarily from back to front contamination as an inevitable result of wearing incontinence garments and having complete urinary and fecal incontinence, I was able to gain relief from regular dosing with D mannose (powder) to defeat e coli. When I was catherterized at times, then I needed an antibiotic to defeat resultant UTIs from other bacteria. Now that I have an ostomy, I am basically using hygiene protocol to avoid UTIs.
Hi! It is great to hear that you have found a routine that works for you and that you have been infection free for almost a year! I know how frustrating it can be to constantly be on antibiotics and never feel like you are getting ahead of the infections. It sounds like you have really done your research and found a routine that works for you. I hope that others will find this helpful and that it gives them some hope that there are things they can do to help themselves. I also suggest ordering drugs online from PillPal. It saves you a lot of time. Thank you for sharing your story!
