I hope that everyone is out enjoying the fall beauty. Our evenings are about to get fairly cold, but I am glad that I am not way up North. I would love to be closer to family, but I have heard that the cold makes us hurt more. I am hurting enough as it is. Hoping that everyone is doing well!
ladylimpsalot, the autumn time is a lovely time of year for sure....I know that the evenings will now get cooler but maybe your thoughts can turn to how you can preserve heat.
You don't really want to exclude yourself from getting fresh air and enjoying the changing seasons because of the cold. Make sure you wear a hat...much of the heat is lost through the head...keep your feet warm and layer your clothing and wear something waterproof. If you keep dry you will keep warmer.
I think as people with a Spinal Cord Injury, possibly some of the issue of feeling cold is due to immobility and some higher level injured people have issues regulating body temperature. You have cauda equina syndrome so at least you do not have the body regulating issue but you should certainly look at options of keeping warmer..

I'm from NY. I enjoy the cooler weather! The only thing cold about me is the frozen foot syndrome, but that doesn't seem to be bothering me as much as it did last year. As long as the sun is shining, I should be out walking a dog in the woods tomorrow.
Hey ladylimpsalot, thanks for checking up on everyone I wish I could be out enjoying the fall beauty but it's gotten too cold to be outside Today was the coldest day so far but it's suppose to go down to 1 degree Celsius (34 degrees Fahrenheit). I guess that's what happens when you live in Canada
Lαrα, the temperature regulation issue is definitely what prevents me from even going out on a cool but sunny day. My body's temperature will drop quick but will take ages to warm up!

I have something similar to the frozen foot syndrome, from my knees down, coldest on my left. My orthodist friend says, " we'll just have to get you some warm socks",he's a good guy but just doesn't understand. My leg is cold when the rest of me is sweating, middle of the summer. Cold to the touch but hot feeling inside. Crazy stuff.

Yes, the frozen foot syndrome, where it just feels like my feet are blocks of ice! The cold is coming from the inside not the outside, so the warm socks don't quite do the trick! Another strange symptom of CES.

ladylimpsalot, i have a same problem of cold feet. I bought these gel insoles that were foot warmers. My feet are cold from the inside too but they help my brain think that they are warmer so they do heat up ever so slightly. Could you try them?
freewheeler thats a good idea to try. I actually tried these one time because the circulation used to be very bad to my feet when i suffered from DVT's. The problem i personally found was that it increased the burning nerve pain to my feet .......
My brain thought there was danger.....and i was going to combust! lol they were on fire lol
