DJ, last year, I went to the ER to find out why my back hurt so badly. They took X-rays and told me I was fine. A week later, I found out my hardware had been dislodged from a fall a MONTH prior. ER here is useless.
Wow that's terrible! If they actually did the scan you'd think that it's pretty obvious to see something was wrong
Hi knight as you may know I suffer from fibromyalgia. and one of the things they have found that pain with out any reason is usually dx as fibro it can be secondary to a major illness accident or operation. The quick answer to our continued pain is that Docs say we have what they call a pain Gate that never closes. I will post a little info from my forum it maybe worth asking your Doc next time they can not find any reason for your pain if you have Fibromyalgia ?Nothing to lose by asking. Pain is the pits I so understand how you feel.
Disturbed pain signals
The most likely cause of fibromyalgia is a disturbance in the way signals are passed through the body to the brain. Pain signals are transmitted through the central nervous system, which is a network of nerves linking the brain and spinal chord. Fibromyalgia is thought to form as a result of disturbances in the process of transmittance. This would explain why sufferers feel constant pain and sensitivity to touch
I can feel where my L1&2 are fused and that is where my sharp, paralyzing pain is coming from. When I twist, lean, turn, or cough, I get this horrid pain from right there, and it hurts so bad sometimes that I can't move.

Thankyou for the post mo and i can see where you are coming from although the cause is highly likely to be related to Knight s Spinal Cord Injury.
Spinal Cord Injury is complex and causes so many related problems..with function and pain and fortunately we have the guidance from our consultants especially when pain is from the injury level and below...So this is the best starting point to try to find the cause of the pain.
mo you have quoted some health info (shown in the quote above) that will have originated from a source, it would be greatly appreciated if you can link to the original source please as all factual content needs to be referenced...thankyou
