Hi do any of you sew/used to sew or knows someone with a SCI injury who sews?

i used to make some of my own clothes and have made 4-5 quilts. I would eventually like to get back into quilting but my machine has the foot pedal to activate it. I have seen some new machines that has a button you press to start the sewing machine. I would like to know if that requires a sharp learning curve?

i don't know if it is worth getting back into it if I have to buy a new machine.

sherry...i have always been envious of people who can sew...i once sewed some arm pads for DJ to try and make them fit him better and i did such a bad job (though he never said lol)

Well it isnt where my talents lie thats for sure....anyways i have tried to find some sewing vids but i came across this page that has some useful practical short videos on adapted living.
I didnt notice a sewing one but maybe there is something of interest there..here is the link Short Adaptive Living Videos

Could you move the foot pedal to somewhere you could reach with your upper body sherry?

Well I haven't tried using my machine but I imagine maybe I could hook the pedal on the wall and use my elbow, but I don't know how easy it is while moving the material.
