Just been wondering how much dump or bucket everyone has in their chair. My first chair (Q7) has 3 inches of bucket, and my Quickie Ti has only 2 inches, but lately I seem to feel like I am sitting on top of my chair rather than IN it. I might add another inch to make it a bit more comfortable until I can get a new chair. I am overcompensating with my upper back muscles to maintain my posture since I can't feel my lower back or use much of those muscles, and it hurts!
Hi Knight, I looked at the script for my chair on the Tilite site and can't seem to see what the dump is for my chair. The closest thing that I can see is seat tapper witch is standard. here is a the link to my script click here You will have to put the serial number in, 11925299. See if you can see.
Good post Knight Seating considerations are very important.especially considering the time spent in a chair and the effects this has on the joints etc.
I use a power chair and the dump on it is what is comfortable to me. I use the Tilt-in-Space all the time. I usually don't tilt a lot and normally about 3" to 4". I elevate the seat to transfer and flatten out the dump of the seat. I transfer at least 8 times per day.
Good luck.

Dump is the difference between the front seat height and your rear seat height

Yes Knight, I know that but I can't seem to see it on my script.

According to your serial number your chair has 2" of dump.
I originally has three but changed it to two. I think I can go down to one or none since I don't feel like I'm sitting as upright as I could/should be!

The problem with changing your bucket is that it changes how you sit on your tailbone. So be careful and pay attention to your "turtle head" bone to make sure you won't get a pressure sore. I know when I was using my Q7, I had a callous on my tailbone because it had 3" of bucket and the cushion did not give me correct support.
