Hi andymark25415 and . I think swimming is great exercise, I haven't been since my injury but I'm looking forward to when I can start swimming again. The main reason I dont go is due to my bad bowels.

Yeah, the fish must hate that Butiki. I think swimming is an excellent way to get exercise. And even without trying any exercise if done on a regular basis, with a healthy diet, will help with weight issues.
Lαrα, don't worry, I can't swim either. For some reason, my legs will work for standing and a tiny bit of walking, but you get them trying to work against water and they're like, "Nope!" I just sink. No buoyancy at all.

I love to swim, should have been a fish!!! But cannot imagine how to control B&B to avoid nasty situation. Ideas from you swimmers?
Well I couldn't get in the pool for the whole five months that I was in rehab unfortunately due to my bladder. Once I got home I was able to come into town and get into the pool a couple of times at the rehab center but what I did was I was keeping the Foley catheter in all day but I also don't have any bowel problems right now. Either that or else catheterize like right before getting in the pool. Good luck
sherry, Thanks for ideas. I don't cath now, risk of infection extra high for me because of immune-suppressing meds for my disease. Bowels are the real nightmare--s*** happens...anytime, anywhere, and I don't even feel it. I am learning better to manage things with time and content of eating, but this is not a perfect solution. Getting into cold or warm water could make things happen.

I used to be like that but now my stools are more like hard balls, very rarely unformed. Me it's when I pass gas, I don't always hear them and then I don't know if I had an accident to go along with the smell.

Ah, yes, to go along with the possibility of floaters there is the almost certain "carbonation" of the pool!!!!!
