My muscles in my right leg, mainly my quadriceps, are constantly tense and I can't get it to release. I tried going off of my Baclofen because I thought maybe the tension was unreleased spasms. Not the case. I tried for a little over a week dealing with crazy, dangerous spasms, one of which slammed my Achilles tendon into my footrest (no damage, thank goodness). So, I went back on my Baclofen and my spasms are under control again. The tension in my thigh is still there and sometimes almost unbearable. I don't understand it at all! It tenses up horribly when I try to stand or stretch it out. I do leg stretches every day. Now, when I try to stand, it tenses up and either pulls my foot off the ground or causes me to go off balance and sit right back down!
I wish I had an answer for you right now. I have a calf muscle doing the same thing and I can't find relief for it. It is also making my toes burn like they are in scolding hot water.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?
Knight...my thigh/s do exactly the same..this morning it was so painful and i thought it was never going to relax. My leg pulled back almost underneath me and my toes did something crazy
I think DJ has hit the nail on the head..ideally you should keep up with your exercises. I know that mine is worse if i dont keep on top of exercising and now this happened i will get back to stretches in the mornings.
Its just part of the nerve damage and its effects...but try the stretches and see how you get along with it
usually they do, but that one won't for some reason
What position do you legs stay in at night when you sleep?
usually I sleep on my side and my legs stay in, well the same position they're in all day sitting, but if I try to sleep with them any other way, my spasms go crazy, the tension gets worse and I get no sleep.

I see, so your hips are always flexed? Your legs aren't ever straight at night?

sometimes they are. I guess it just depends on how I get comfortable. Most nights they are flexed though.
Could that be why Knight? I always keep my legs extended straight at night but if they ever spasm and bend and stay that way till the morning, it gets really tight!

It definitely could be what's causing it... I just don't know how else to sleep comfortably.
Hey Knight, I found that laying on my stomach a couple of times a day really helped stretch me out, I it feels good as well, for me anyway. I try to do it at least once during the day and always just before I get up and at night when I get into bed.
Lying on your stomach as Butiki mentioned is a great idea as well Knight! Try that and try keeping your legs straight as much as you can at night and see if it helps
