This week, Hollister Incorporated announced the availability of VaPro™, a touch-free hydrophilic intermittent catheter, along with the new Apogee IC™ intermittent catheter. These two new intermittent catheters build upon the existing Hollister Continence Care assortment of intermittent catheters.
Hollister offers several intermittent catheter options to provide the right balance of ease of use and protection. While the Advance Plus and Advance Plus Pocket™ touch free intermittent catheter systems are great choices for those who prefer gel lubrication and a collection bag, the new VaPro touch-free hydrophilic intermittent catheter is a ready-to-use hydrophilic catheter with a protective tip and sleeve.
Ive been sent two boxes of these from Hollister to try out DJ..the only thing i can say in comment is that when i catheter i like to catheter to be rigid with a little flexibility.
The Hollister ones are a great idea in principle because they eliminate the problem of UTI's caused by bacteria entering the bladder that us carried on the catheter.
I found it slightly more difficult to catheter because the sensation is altered so i was less certain if the catheter was actually entering where it was meant to..its definitely more flexible so this i would have to practice and get used to but great idea
I wanted to try the Coloplast Speedicath for Women, but of course, Medicaid says no, can't even try samples. The fact that I don't get UTIs now since my immune system came back makes it so I can't try all these cool little doohickeys. Lol. Oh well. I haven't had a UTI for months. *knock on wood*
I do, however, have to say, the MTG closed system catheters are wonderful and I will have to buy some out-of-pocket for when I go camping this coming summer. They are so convenient! Also good for road trips!
It's good that you're not having UTI's anymore Knight, let's hope it stays that way!
Why can't your try samples? Doesn't Coloplast give samples?
the only samples I got from Coloplast were straight caths. I applied for samples from Cure, MTG, and Hollister, but nobody ever got back to me from Hollister.
