Interesting Butiki...i thought that the leading cause of Spinal Cord Injury was now falls in the USA.? I read an article this month which stated this...
The number of serious spinal cord injuries in the United States is rising, and it's not for the reason you may think. Falls, especially among older Americans, now surpass car accidents as the leading cause of spinal cord injuries, according to new research from Johns Hopkins University.
It seems that the elderly are becoming Spinal Cord Injured due to falling and i guess that now that the population is living longer i can imagine that falling is more prevalent so people develop associated health issues that can cause loss of balance etc.
So his shows that falls are now the most common cause of Spinal Cord Injury...a factor for this is again the incidents of falls that are occur among the elderly..

Very interesting! Thanks for posting this Butiki. I think also that as our population ages, that more will suffer SCIs. But at this point I am more interested in the younger injured. One other thing that jumped to my attention is that the single are more likely to suffer SCI than the married.
