I can't believe things like this happen, it's quite sad and disgusting hearing stuff like this and sometimes puts people with disabilities off from traveling.
A former college professor who cannot walk has sued Delta Airlines in federal court, claiming that crew members on two flights told him the only way he could get off the plane was to crawl down the aisle, down the steps and across the tarmac.
D. Baraka Kanaan, who lives in Hawaii, filed the suit July 23 in U.S. District Court in Honolulu, against the airlines and 20 unnamed individuals.
Kanaan, who suffers from partial paralysis of his legs stemming from a car accident, said the airline's "outrageous conduct" occurred on two flights he took a year ago.
Reading an article like this infuriates me....why do people not have the empathy and common sense to see when a treatment of another human being is just inhumane and not acceptable. I can only imagine how humiliated and angry this guy must have felt.
I agree, it really is inhumane! All those people around him watching as he struggles to crawl but doing nothing about it. I think they would have treated an injured and crawling animal better.
I want to follow this story. Hard to imagine that others would not help him insist on a better solution, or otherwise intervene on his behalf. Making arrangements ahead does not always work out.
