It's very sad, but unfortunately kids are affected by SCI as well. I find this a very hard thing to grasp, it's so sad. But fortunately there are a lot of resources out there to help these kids and their families. This site has a lot of great information on this sad subject.
Any time a family member becomes paralyzed, your world turns upside down. A new set of stressors enter your life and the world as you knew it is changed. When this happens to your young child or teen, it can seem overwhelming. As a parent of a young child or teen with paralysis, you need to focus on a number of areas of your child's life.
I really couldn't imagine how I would cope if it happened to one of my kids.
Helping children understand paralysis, wheelchairs and disability can be a difficult task. Children learn easily from books, videos and activities such as coloring. Teens may not want to ask an adult questions, but are more likely to search out answers via the web or books

I never understand why things like SCI happen to children...it so unfair. My friend's son has a room full of equipment which included a standing frame and an adapted pushchair...and he is just 3 years old....
Yeah true, but then I think the parents of the child, (certainly if it was my child) would do their very best to ensure that he/she did all they could to live life to the fullest. Not without their struggles though I'm sure.

Definitely rach! My parents sure did (and still do) their very best ensuring I live life to the fullest
That's great to hear DJ am sure majority of parents would out of the love for their child, you would do anything for them, sure their would be obstacles in the way sometimes but good family support means everything.
