this is advancing quickly. it is conceivable that we will be able to reproduce tissue using our own as a model. i imagine this to be a sort of photoshop "clone" tool, but of course in 3 dimensions, and the output of the copy being a printed cross section (of spinal cord tissue)
In the article it says the focus is to develop the tissue to be used as a sample to test drugs on it. Even if they can reproduce a section of the spinal cord would transplanting it work? Have they ever taken a donor spinal cord from an animal and transplanted it?
