angel, that's kinda random and I had no idea what you were talking about until I remembered hearing about it on the news recently. It was quite sad and sick how that happened but for those of you who haven't hear about it, you can check it out here. Anyways, time to get back to topic!
So.....this question is in general to everyone and especially my Cauda Equina colleagues..
I have lack of sensation around my saddle area (mostly numb) and down the back of my legs, sides of my legs and my feet.
I manage to walk even though my feet are very numb....the soles of my feet even though they are numb feel like i have pieces of wood stuck to the bottom..its a strange sensation. I never imagined that I would be able to walk because of how numb my feet are but I can. I prefer to not wear anything on my feet around the house and when i walk outside i tend to look down a lot. I used to always have to look where I placed my feet but i'm so much better at it now.
My upright mobility is restricted..for longer distances i need a chair but i am pleased that i have the mobility that i do have and i still need my crutches.
Im curious if anyone else is the same.
? Has anyone had a treatment that is successful for numb feet... both my feet go numb right on the balls of the feet and the pain is really bad

Sadly, there isnt a cure for numb feet. The sensation would return only depending on the nerves...and they became numb due to nerve damage. Nerve regeneration depends on several factors....
I am numb in my saddle area, the back and sides of my legs and feet..and this has not altered since i developed CES.
I do not think there is anything you can do to improve it...personally, i have got used to feeling the lack of sensation...it is now normal for me.
If you are getting any nerve pain then there are meds that your doctor can give you which may alleviate the symptoms. Also take a look through this thread, you may find something useful here.... inspiredsciforum.com/thread/223/nerve-pain-information-management
I get the same foot pain as you also..i am going to ask my doctor for a referral to a foot specialist but the damage to my feet is very significant that i expect that any help will be limited. I would like advice on how to care for my feet etc which is why i am going.
Any relief for your feet yet? I have a lot of pain in my heels when I am on my feet for a long time..
Personally i think the only relief is by relieving the pressure off them...similar to pressure release but the only problem is that a minutes release wouldn't benefit enough.
The ideal would be to take the weight off them but possible cushioned shoes...or gel insoles? I think il take a look into this because its a very common problem with us CES people.
Just updating this really to say that there has been zero change in the numb feeling in my feet. They still burn and still feel like i have pieces of wood stuck to the soles of my feet.
I know in regards to my negligence case, the issue of numb feet is going to be addressed again so this is on my mind currently. Its actually very easy to lose confidence when you dont have normal contact with the floor or ground.
I dont think the loss of sensation will ever change now, its pretty much an accepted done deal...
Ic an walk a few steps but need to hold on to something. Strangely I can climb a few steps on a ladder but after about a few minutes my legs begin to shake. My upper body is very strong so I compensate with my arms. My crutches and braces work OK for short while but I'm most at ease & comfortable using my wheel chair
