I use a 18x18x2 Roho cushion. I have had trouble in the past when transferring from an object that is higher then where I am, ie car to my chair. When I transfer my leg catches the cushion and folds it under my leg. I use to put a flat board in my cushion and didn't have this problem. Problem was I didn't like the flat seat, I preferred the convex shape of the nylon fabric. Here is the question...

Has anyone else experienced this?

If I developed a solution, is this something you would be interested in?

I have one made in a beta test and love it.

Any input will be valued and respected.

andrew, I've had a regular roho air cushion in the beginning but I've never had that issue. Is it because the material is soft? I also used a Roho Hybrid Elite in the past as well that has gel in the front of the seat and air on that back so folding would have been harder. I now use a ride custom cushion and this thing is solid!

The pricing is terrible lonewolf! I do however find the harder surface easier to transfer with because my hand doesn't sink into the cushion.

sliding from the chair onto the transfer board and into the passenger seat is a challenge .... why do vendors mark up the prices so friggin much on medical equipment ????? Wife has a RIDE contoured back rest too ...... have you noticed mold issues (I think it is that)on the cushion due to moisture and air trapped ?

Oh yeah a sliding board is a pain to use with these cushions sometimes. I don't use a transfer board much and I don't really do car transfers so I don't know what it feels like. I've had my custom cushion and backrest for an year now and haven't noticed any mold.
