Hi wavewolf, I have seen exdemo tilite chairs on eBay very well priced and in the US. I'm pretty sure it's Tilite selling the chairs, worth a look. I have a Areo Z 2 and love it. Very easy to get in and out of the car and that's a 4x4. The chair weighs 13 kgs with the wheels on, so very light.
P.S what did you think of the top end crossfire all terrain when you demoed it ?
wavewolf, I see what you mean yea. I really don't know what to say, I do hope you'll be able to get it sorted and at the very least get the ridged chair! If only the governments would put more money into disability... Anyways, let us know how it goes. Good luck!
hello wavewolf i have verry big chair to and it verry hard to push. my wife help when i am tierd but i like to have a small chair but too much money. everything is to much money !
That is the issue... Yet, if we continue to injure ourselves using the wrong equipment, the cost in money and body will be higher.
wavewolf...my chair is quite heavy also...id love a super light one but i don't think i will invest in one as yet as im not using a chair so much these days, at the moment.
I did end up with very painful wrists at one time from over doing the wheeling about
Butiki..im so pleased that your chair is with you soon...i bet you cant wait!

Thanks for this tip--I have been looking for a TiLite demo that is my size! May get lucky yet...
The Top End CAT I demoed handled very well. Seems as if the "wheelbase" is a bit longer for stability, but it was easy to push. Did not check how it might handle loading, however. I only got to try it indoors, and of course, that is not a fair test for this WC!!!
Sorry to thread-jack Butiki (I know, bad admin ) I don't know if I should put this here or in the rant thread but wavewolf, I just got my quote for the freewheel and smart drive after trying them out yesterday and my goodness do they ever want an arm and a leg!
So they're asking $7,200 for these two items. That's as much as my chair! Do they think we grow money from trees or something :banghead:
insert code here The freewheel is $699 here and fitted for free or fit it yourself and the smart drive is a tad over $8000. I think disabled people are all multi millionaires. The all terrain wheelchair was $3,545
DJ, I researched FreeWheel a bit and you are able to get it for much cheaper if you attend a free Abilities Expo. They have them year round all over the States, not sure about Canada. It cost about $450, so much cheaper than advertised and installing is not as difficult either...They did not have an expo near me so I had a friend purchase it in NY a few months back.
Thanks for the info theone! That's a huge saving from the current price I was quoted. I'm not aware of any ability expos here, I'll look into it though
