I was listing all the horrible sensations I deal with due to damaged nerves, and I think the worst one is the hypersensitivity. There are spots below my injury that I can only feel pain in, and whenever you even brush a feather against them, I'm yelping in pain. My right ankle, my knees, and my tailbone are the worst for it! Sometimes it hurts to sit simply because of the hypersensitivity in tailbone.
Using the toilet is highly uncomfortable, unless it has a cushion seat.
I figured I'd start a thread to talk about it, since I know a lot of us have to deal with it sometimes.

Yes, Yes, Yes! It's a horrible pain, almost a burning sensation. I find that it increases when I eat processed foods. Nero pain and joint pain reduces greatly when I eat a more paleo diet. Processed foods cause a lot of inflamation for me which triggers it. When I eleminate the processed crap food then I feel pretty good physically. Skipping the breads and packaged foods works better than meds for me. After 20 years my shoulders and hips keep me awake half of the night so I take ambien to help go back to sleep after tossing and turning to get comfy. Life with SCI is no joke!
Great thread Knight! Hypersensitivity sucks! I have a lot of hypersensitivity in my feet and fingers so when I get my nails cut, it feels like I'm getting my skin cut My pee pee has a lot of hypersensitivity as well so cathing really sucks!
DJ...i would hate to be hypersensitive on my girlie bits..catheterizing would be so much more traumatic For me im only hypersensitive below my knees and to my feet..... I do have altered sensation there so its a strange contradiction really.
But putting socks etc on is painful..the burning in my feet bothers me much more though
