After having insane, through-the-roof pain and snap-crackle-pop sounds in my spine for over 2 months now, it is sure that there is something wrong. I went to see my neurosurgeon yesterday, and after x-rays and a CT scan, it was determined that the fusion between my L1&L2 did not take.
I am getting hardware put back in on June 10. I am nervous and anxious, but I know this surgery will greatly diminish my pain, so I have to do it. It has been a very long hard road for me, and I am hoping after this surgery, I will be able to make a better recovery than the one I've made so far.
My walking has been put on hold until then-- no walking until after the surgery because of my vertebrae rubbing together. I can't even begin to explain the horrible feeling of bones grinding together in your spine. It makes my skin crawl!
I have to take it easy now, which isn't that hard to do. We are hoping that the remodel of my bathroom can take place during the few days I will be recovering in the hospital.
Surgery number 4... hopefully I can stop counting after this one!
Wow Knight...thats tough going....such a shame the fusion didnt work but on the positive, at least something further can be done and you can then hopefully get rid of the pain you are experiencing because of this
Dont worry..we will all keep you company when your in hospital

So sorry to hear that. I've been hearing this type of thing more and more over the past few years with the newer hardware. I've had mine since 1994. I sure hope they get it right for you this time.
Damn sorry to hear that Knight, I can't imagine what it must feel like I hope the next surgery will be your last one!
I am also paranoid of surgeries and other invasive procedures to my body (even catheterization) cbdives. I have titanium hardware in my neck and I really hope I never have any issues!
My pain is through the roof! I've been sleeping at odd hours, and my pain spikes around 3:00-4:00 am, when I usually wake up for a potty break. Even when I lie back down, my back still hurts like hell.
