Very cool technology that will benefit many high level quads and even those with cognitive issues!
Lying in bed, unable to move a muscle, so-called locked-in patients have few ways to communicate with the outside world. But researchers have now found a way to use the widening and narrowing of the pupils to send a message, potentially helping these patients break the silence.
Very interesting..its great that they have designed this..being able to communicate is a basic, needed function....and hopefully will ease some of the frustration that must be felt by individuals.
Fascinating! Jason Becker, guitar virtuoso and composer, got ALS at age 19. Now 44, he is completely paralyzed except for his eyes and small movement of his lower jaw. He is still composing music with the help of technology! Read about using his eyes to communicate at jasonbeckerguitar.com/eye_communication.html
wavewolf, that is incredible! It's great to see that he hasn't given up what he loves doing but that's impressive considering its done by eye! Good for him

Thanks for sharing the vid wavewolf..its just amazing what he does..very inspirational that he still finds a way to do something he loves and then does it well...
Just to clarify, this vid is of a composition and studio performance pre-ALS! But JB is still composing, growing into music that is uniquely his. There is a wonderful DVD of his life called "Not Yet Dead". Gotta love a guy who titles his autobiography like that!
