Wheelchair Accessible Escalators!

What a great idea..Japan has these accessible options on the escalators!

Japan has many Wheelchair Accessible Escalator in public spaces, specially train stations. When a wheelchair user comes, the train staff stop the escalator and operate the button. 3 flat board come after a while and ride on it. Electric wheelchair users also can use it. Some manual wheelchair do not use it because it takes a time (3-5 min /each), need to call the staff, and normal passengers cannot use during this operation.


Lets hope they catch on in other countries!
