I have noticed that when I get stressed, I get constipated really badly. I've been stressed a lot lately because I haven't addressed my emotional issues in almost a year. Now they are bubbling up and screwing with my bowels!!!
Hi Knight, I think stress can affect many parts of our bodies, that's why I really try not to get stressed about things, I just let life do what it has to do.

I like that last line. That's how I wish I could feel, but for some reason, women are blessed with wacko hormones... ???
Stress affects my bowels in the opposite manner--explosive s___ happens! Stress is a major factor in how my disease affects daily life. Hoping you can get things sorted, Knight. It takes time (you said a year) for things to get sticky, so give yourself sometime to think through and remedy.
Stress has a very negative effect on our body in general. Its very possible that it can affect the bowels this way and lets be honest we dont need any additional problems in that department.
You could do with finding some ways to deal with your stress Knight, especially as its been longterm.

My bowels become crazy right before or after my period sometimes. I had the endometrial ablation to get rid of my period but I still have PMS and normal period symptoms. My bowels get screwy around that time each month. I have a colostomy so it's not a big deal. I irrigate daily and don't have to think about bowels usually. Makes life a lot easier.

Yeah stress affects you negatively in general but it's very possible that it affects your bowels Knight. For me I think it's only/mainly food that affects my bowels.
Too much stress, too much on my mind! I've been in bed for 2 days, and in and out of it because of my depression, period, and this sickness I caught! Everyone else, including my 4-year-old son, got the stuffy/runny nose, sore throat, cough. I got a stuffy nose, itchy and dry throat, bowel issues, and a fever! So, oops! I had a little accident, but in a way, it was a plus. I'm on my period, which constipated me, so I was having so many issues going! now I got to void my bowels with only a cleansing enema at the end. Gotta look at the bright side, right? hell, at least one thing went right this month!
